I was reminded of the movie 'Titanic' when I first set eyes on this residence.... I was reminded of the function taking place in the ballroom on board the greatest cruise ship in history, before the tragic event of its sinking. Elegant ladies and dapper gentlemen gathered and enjoyed themselves on the sumptuous ship. I remember when I stood in front of this western style residence for the first time, now over 75 years in age, I felt my heart quicken imagining what wonderful banquets Count Ogasawara must have hosted here, and his decision to renovate this residence so that society may use this wonderful hall as a venue for rest, relaxation and entertaining. I have received lots of support and guidance from many people including volunteers till today. I would like to show my gratitude to all whom have shown their support. I look forward to the day to welcome you all to this residence.
